Originally from Lahore, they honed their craft in their uncle's sports shop before establishing SG to facilitate the export of their cricket products. Following the partition of India, the family relocated to Agra and eventually settled in Meerut in 1950. SG specializes in crafting a wide range of cricket gear, including bats, balls, and other cricket equipment. Notably, the company has been the manufacturer of the red balls used in all Test cricket matches in India since 1994. These hand-stitched balls feature a distinct seam resulting from thicker thread, offering durability and late swing.
